About the Speakers

Beth Bozzo has twenty years of experience in public library service combined with an undergrad degree focused on psychology and social work. She has worked at Lansing Library, located across from a middle school, for 8 years. When she became the youth manager four years ago, her main goal was to create a safe, welcoming, and less chaotic environment during the after-school hours. Beth has utilized her learning and experience to help gain control over an out-of-control environment.

Mary Schons is a career librarian that has been at Lansing Library for one year. She came from a library that offered little support for managing student behavior and has seen firsthand the difference in the environment when behavior is well-managed with clear boundaries.
