Fox River Valley Public Library District Welcomes New Executive Director

East Dundee, IL – After a thorough search, the Fox River Valley Public Library District is happy to announce the appointment of Kristi Howe as the new Executive Director. Howe brings a strong library leadership and management background, having served in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Her extensive experience in advocacy and commitment to fiscal responsibility make her a valuable asset to the Library District.

Howe earned her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. She is passionate about fostering a welcoming library environment and looks forward to engaging with the community. 

“When I came for my interview, each person I met was welcoming and warm – and I got the impression the entire staff treat patrons the same, kind way,” said Howe. “I am excited to lead this dedicated team and continue the Library’s mission of serving the community.”

Howe will officially begin her role as Executive Director on May 19, 2025. The Fox River Valley Public Library District Board of Trustees is confident in her leadership and looks forward to working with her to advance the Library’s initiatives.
