2025 Illinois Open Education Summit

On Monday, April 7, 2025, librarians, faculty, academic leadership, instructional designers, and distance education staff from across the state will gather at Illinois State University’s Alumni Center for the 2025 Illinois Open Education Summit. The theme is “Building an Open Future: Supporting and Expanding Open Education Across Illinois.”

This one day in-person event seeks to bring together people who want to create a shared vision for Open Education in Illinois and develop or expand their Open Education programs and initiatives—whether they come from small institutions or large universities, are beginning their open educational resources journeys or already have established programs. Institutions have been encouraged to put together teams of aspiring or active Open Education champions to bring their diverse perspectives to the event, but individuals committed to removing barriers to learning have been urged to participate as well. Throughout the day, attendees will have opportunities to develop goals for their campuses, network with people in similar roles at other colleges and universities, give and get advice from peers, and contribute to conversations about how to coordinate state-wide OER efforts in Illinois.

Registration for this year’s Illinois Open Education Summit is now closed, but to learn more about the event, click on the link: Illinois Open Education Summit: Building an Open Future: Supporting and Expanding Open Education Across Illinois.
