November 22, 2024-
Kristin Pekoll, IFC Staff Liaison
kpekoll@ila.org
Soft Censorship, Self-Censorship, and the Chilling Effect in Libraries
Join members of the ILA Intellectual Freedom Committee as they lead a discussion about the impacts that various forms of censorship are having on libraries. Participants are encouraged to share their own experiences and stories from the field. The purpose of this discussion is to give librarians from all institutions a place to discuss these ongoing issues and also help the Intellectual Freedom Committee understand how we can respond.
Wednesday, December 11 @ 2pm
Moderator: Ben De Biasio is the Community Learning & Outreach Librarian at Dominican University. He was a special education teacher before earning his MLIS from Dominican University in 2020.
Jolie Duncan is the Info Services Manager at Arlington Heights Memorial Library. She has been a member of the Intellectual Freedom Committee for the past two years.
