All ILA Trustee Members ($75/year) receive the Trusty Trustee Newsletter by email. Anyone can access it on the ILA website.

Message from the Trustee Forum President - Jennifer Lucas
Dear Fellow Library Trustees,
I am honored to begin my term as the Illinois Library Association Trustee Forum President and excited to share the forum’s news and upcoming events.
ILA Trustee of the Year - Please join me in congratulating the 2024 ILA Trustee of the Year, Tom Stagg, Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for the Alpha Park Public Library in Bartonville, Illinois. The award will be presented at an awards ceremony during the 2024 Illinois Library Association Annual Conference. Read below for more details about his amazing contributions to the library world!
ILA Annual Conference - I hope you will join me in attending the 2024 ILA Annual Conference, October 8-10 at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. Each year I leave with new ideas and better ways to serve my library. Trustee Day is scheduled for October 10, but programs of interest to trustees are offered each day of the conference.
Next ILA Trustee Forum Meeting - The next Meeting of the ILA Trustee Forum will be 7:00 p.m., August 13, 2024. These meetings are virtual, and Illinois library trustees are encouraged to attend and participate in discussions. Please register to attend.
ILead Training Available for Trustees - If you are not already aware, the Illinois Heartland Library System’s iLead program (Leadership, Empowerment, Access, Development) offers a learning portal for library trustees. The iLead program strives to be a comprehensive, easily accessible, always-available, interactive on-line platform for trustee development. See more at iLeadTrustee.org.
