Palatine Library District Names New Assistant Director
May 2, 2024Palatine Library District is happy to announce the promotion of Susan Conner to Assistant Director after the position was vacated by Melissa Gardner, who was promoted to Executive Director starting in July 2024.
Conner has been the Technology Manager at Palatine Library for the past eight years and has been on staff for 18 years in various positions. She earned her master’s in library and information science from the University of Alabama. She currently serves as a board member in the LACONI Technology Section and is on the 2024 ILA Conference Program Committee.
Conner has been a vital part of the Library’s management team and has implemented several technology innovations and services, including managing our new makerspace, The Workshop.
“I’m excited and honored to move into this role and focus on our new strategic plan. We have an exceptional team and a wonderful community,” states Susan Conner.
The vision of Palatine Public Library District is to inspire connection, curiosity, and joy. The District serves approximately 90,000 residents predominantly within the communities of Palatine and Hoffman Estates.
