Advance Registration Deadline for ILA Annual Extended to October 11
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)
October 8, 2016(via the Illinois Library Association)
The 2016 ILA Annual Conference is less than two weeks away. Due to numerous requests, the advance registration deadline has been extended to Tuesday, October 11. Take advantage of this opportunity to avoid the on-site registration penalty and save.
If you would like to add any special events to your registration–such as the Youth Services Author Breakfast, DiversiTEA, or IACRL and Public Library Forum Luncheons–contact Tina Koleva, at tina@ila.org. On-site registrations for special events will not be accepted, so reserve your space now. Also, download the Conference Program Book and view thesearchable online schedule to begin planning your conference. The mobile app will be available next week.
A new program has been added to the schedule on Wednesday, October 19, at 9:00 AM–“Take the Bite Out of Bed Bugs”. As bed bugs become more common, it’s only a matter of time before your library encounters these pests. Be proactive: learn how to prepare before you find a bed bug. This panel of three library directors who “lived to tell” and Sue Hagberg, President of Canine Inspection & Detection Services, will share their experiences, bed bug identification training, sample actions plans and policies, treatment and maintenance options, and communication strategies.
The Exhibit Hall offers you the opportunity to explore and discuss with expert vendors the breadth and depth of new and favorite library products, services, books, online services, tools, and technologies. Make time to visit the conference exhibits on Wednesday, October 19, and Thursday, October 20. The Exhibit Hall will also feature the Illinois Author Showcase in Booth 613. Stop by and meet your new favorite author.
