Illinois Academic Librarians Running for ALA Office
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)
September 10, 2016The American Library Association has announced the slate of ALA Council candidates it has nominated for the 2017 elections. Two Illinois academic librarians are on the list. They are Steve Brantley, Head of Reference Services and Associate Professor at Eastern Illinois University, and Sarah McHone-Chase, Head of User Services at Northern Illinois University. Both Brantley and McHone-Chase ran in the last ALA election but did not win. Individuals who were not nominated but would be interested in running for a seat on the Council may petition the ALA. Voting for the 2017 elections will open on March 13 and last until April 5. The results will be announced on April 12.
