Training Available for Greater Midwest Region Funding Opportunities
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)

The National Network of Libraries of Medicine – Greater Midwest Region is currently accepting applications for four awards, and training is available to help you apply. Bobbi Newman will lead two training sessions that are specifically tailored to our current awards (see below). More information about each award, including the amount and the application deadline, follows. Note that the application deadline for all four awards is Friday, September 12.
Emergency Preparedness Award
Purpose: to promote emergency preparedness through partnerships among state library organizations, public libraries, and local health departments and first responders, via training of National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources
Amount: up to $10,000
Number Offered: 3
Application Deadline: Friday, September 12
Express Outreach Award
Purpose: to develop and implement outreach and education programs focused on National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources that reach health professionals and consumers in the region.
Amount: up to $10,000
Number Offered: 5
Application Deadline: Friday, September 12
Technology Improvement Award
Purpose: to increase the number of Network members able to actively and effectively participate in National Library of Medicine (NLM) programs and services within the GMR
Amount: up to $5,000
Number Offered: 5
Application Deadline: Friday, September 12
Professional Development Award
Purpose: to ensure that Network members keep current on health sciences information topics and National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources
Amount: up to $2,000
Number Offered: 8
Application Deadline: Friday, September 12
The online training session on applying for the awards will be held twice, on Friday, August 26, at 11:00 AM CST, and on Thursday, September 1, at 1:00 PM CST. To register, click here. On the day of the webinar, go here, then choose “Enter as a Guest” and type in your name. The call-in information will appear on the next screen.
