Law Librarians Express Appreciation for Bill Passage

November 11, 2014

The Chicago Association of Law Libraries (CALL) recently passed a resolution thanking the Illinois Library Association (ILA) for its support in passage of the Uniform Electronic Legal Material Act (UELMA) by the Illinois General Assembly.  The bill, which ensures permanent public access to primary state legal materials, became law on August 26, 2014.

"We were pleased to support this legislation," said ILA Immediate Past President Su Erickson.  "It is in the interests of everyone that legal information be consistently accessible to all."
