The Board of Trustees invites your consideration and application for the position of Executive Director of the Dixon Public Library. Located in north central Illinois, the Library serves over 15,000 residents with books, periodicals, DVD’s, on-line access, and community programming out of a beautiful, turn-of-the century building with a 1970’s addition. With a budget of $750,000 and 12 staff, the Library is well regarded by the community for its part in a proactive and excellence focused municipal government.
In collaboration with a 9 member appointed Board, the Executive Director will be responsible for all aspects of Library operations including organizational and team leadership, collection and financial management, compliance, community outreach efforts, and long range planning.
This is a full-time exempt position with a salary range of $85,000 to $100,000 based on qualifications and experience. The Library also offers competitive municipal benefits including paid time off, health insurance, and IMRF.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Library Science or Library Information Science is ideal, but applicants with a Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Business, Education, English, Information Systems, etc. ), and interest in pursuing an advanced degree are encouraged to apply
- Five years of progressively responsible library experience
- Two years of demonstrated successful staff management experience
