Nominations Sought for Midwest Chapter/MLA 2017 Distinguished Librarian of the Year Award

Please consider nominating one of your amazing colleagues for the Midwest Chapter/MLA 2017 Distinguished Librarian of the Year Award. The Distinguished Librarian of the Year Award recognizes chapter members who have made outstanding professional contributions to health sciences librarianship and the Chapter. This award will be announced and presented at the business meeting of the Joint Conference of the Midwest Chapter and the Michigan Health Sciences Libraries Association (MHSLA), October 16, 2017. The winner will receive a commemorative plaque and a check for $500.

To qualify, nominees must be current members of the Midwest Chapter and have belonged to it for three years prior. Also, the nominator must be a member of the Midwest Chapter. Nominations should include a completed nomination form, a current resume or CV, a letter of nomination stating why the nominee should be recognized, and two additional letters of support for the nomination. Criteria used to evaluate nominees include but are not limited to, the following: leadership, advocacy, scholarship, research, publications, presentations, teaching, training, mentoring, outreach, professional activities, and meaningful and measurable service to the Chapter.
