Kassy Trejo Selected as 2025 Recipient of the Illinois Library Association Resources and Technical Services Forum Scholarship

The Illinois Library Association (ILA) is pleased to announce that Kassy Trejo, Library Assistant – Acquisitions at the Evanston Public Library, has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 ILA Resources and Technical Services (RTSF) Scholarship. The RTSF Scholarship was established to offset the registration cost for technical services staff members who would not otherwise be able to attend the ILA Annual Conference.
Kassy Trejo has served as a library assistant in the Acquisitions department of the Evanston Public Library since 2022. Her duties include managing standing orders and subscriptions for print and online resources, creating purchase orders for library materials, and processing periodicals. Prior to this role, Trejo was a Bookmobile Assistant at the Skokie Public Library and a Library Clerk – Substitute at the Evanston Public Library.
Trejo will be a first-time ILA Annual Conference attendee with a goal of serving her library more effectively and bringing back fresh ideas and best practices to improve her library’s acquisitions initiatives. She is a 2020 graduate of Oakton College.
Trejo will be recognized at an awards ceremony during the 2025 Illinois Library Association Annual Conference. The conference will take place October 14-16 in Rosemont, Illinois.
