Thanks to All!
February 18, 2015
We have just concluded three legislative meet-ups in Tinley Park, Oak Brook, and Buffalo Grove. To all those who attended, many thanks! Our next event is Friday, March 6 in Edwardsville.

ILA President Jeannie Dilger suggests a few easy follow-up ideas to keep the conversation going:
- Reach out to the legislators from your area who attended. Start by thanking them for taking the time out of their busy schedule to attend. Then invite them to come to the library: maybe you want to show off a new service or recent remodel, invite them to an upcoming event, or offer to let them use the meeting room or study rooms.
- Reach out to the legislators from your area who DIDN'T attend. Start with "Hey, we missed you at the recent breakfast/lunch." Let them know (kindly) that they had constituents who were hoping to talk to them. Then take the opportunity to share the issues that were presented. (Click here for list of issues.) And you may want to invite them to your library, too.
- Share what you learned about ILA's key issues with those trustees at your library who couldn't attend. (Maybe they can help you with #1 and #2 above!)
Even if you don't have time to do all three, even just one can make a difference!
