First Library Legislative Meet-Up in Chicago to Take Place February 6

he first Chicago Library Legislative Meet-up will take place on February 6, 2017. Don’t miss out on this chance to talk to your legislators! You can meet them in person and talk about issues affecting libraries and higher education, including education and MAP funding and library support. Members of the U.S. Congress, Illinois General Assembly, their staff, library trustees, directors, and staff from all types of libraries are encouraged to attend and participate, as well as others concerned about legislative effects on local libraries. These include your faculty and students.
Featured speakers will include Brian Bannon, Commissioner of the Chicago Public Library, and Scott Walter, University Librarian at DePaul University. Each legislator will be introduced.
When: Monday, February 6, 11:30 am doors open, 12 noon lunch served, 1 – 2:30 program
