Scholarship Applications for ACRL 2017 Conference Due October 7

Scholarship applications to attend ACRL 2017 are due on Friday, October 7. ACRL is offering approximately 150 scholarships worth more than $100,000 for the conference to be held March 22 – 25, 2017, in Baltimore. Scholarships to ACRL 2017 are available in the following categories: Early-Career Librarian Scholarships, Mid-Career Librarian Scholarships, Library Support Staff Scholarships, Library School Student Scholarships, Spectrum Scholar Travel Grants, and Virtual Conference Scholarships. Additional information about the scholarships in each category is below.
Early-Career Librarian Scholarships
Early-Career Librarian Scholarships provide opportunities for academic and research librarians six years or less of post-MLS experience to expand their professional horizons and to update their skills and knowledge by participating in an ACRL professional development experience. Approximately 90 scholarships will be awarded. Each will include complimentary registration (a $390 value), and a $350 stipend to attend the conference. The total value of each scholarship is $740.
Mid-Career Librarian Scholarships
Mid-Career Librarian Scholarships provide opportunities for academic and research librarians with more than six but less than fifteen years of post-MLS experience to expand their professional horizons and to update their skills and knowledge by participating in an ACRL professional development experience. Approximately 25 scholarships will be awarded. Each will include complimentary registration (a $390 value), and a $350 stipend to attend the conference. The total value of each scholarship is $740.
Library Support Staff Scholarships
Library Support Staff Scholarships provide opportunities for academic and research library support staff to expand their professional horizons and to update their skills and knowledge by participating in an ACRL professional development experience. Twelve scholarships will be awarded. Six will consist of complimentary registration (a $390 value) and a travel stipend of $350 to attend the conference. The total value of each scholarship is $740. The other six will consist of complimentary registration (a $385 value) to attend the conference. The total value of each scholarship is $385.
Library School Student Scholarships
Library School Student Scholarships provide opportunities for any library science and/or information science students to participate in an ACRL professional development experience and to learn more about current issues and developments in academic and research libraries. Approximately 15 scholarships will be awarded. Each will include complimentary registration (a $100 value), and $600 stipend to attend the conference. The total value of each scholarship is $700.
Spectrum Scholar Travel Grants
ACRL Travel Grants provide opportunities for Spectrum Scholars to participate in ACRL professional development activities at the conference, to expand their network of colleagues, and to have face-to-face time to build new—or strengthen existing—relationships with their mentors, for those Scholars participating in the ACRL Dr. E.J. Josey Spectrum Scholar Mentor Program. Four awards, each consisting of complimentary advanced early-bird registration (a value of $100-$390, depending on membership type) and $600 cash for travel expenses, will be given.
Virtual Conference Scholarships
Virtual Conference Scholarship provide opportunities for applicants to expand their professional horizons and to update their skills and knowledge by participating in the virtual conference. The ACRL 2017 Virtual Conference will include live, interactive Webcasts, slidecasts of face-to-face sessions, discussion boards, audio blogs, speaker materials and more. Five scholarships will be awarded. Each will include complimentary registration (a $185 value) for the virtual conference. This scholarship provides complimentary registration for the Virtual Conference online only. There is no computer, Web connection, or technical support included.
