OCLC Holding Member Forum in Chicago on October 27

Take part in a day of community, robust conversation and discussion with your colleagues and use the power of your membership in the OCLC cooperative. OCLC will hold a Member Forum on the University of Chicago campus, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Thursday, October 27. The agenda is below.
9:00 AM: Registration and light breakfast
9:30 AM: Welcome and OCLC update
11:45 AM: “Learning from Each Other”--member-led panel discussion on improving workflows and increasing library efficiencies by leveraging the power of the WorldShare platform
12:45 PM: Lunch
1:30 PM: “The OCLC Community Center” – find out how to stay informed, engaged and connected to OCLC products and services and product specialists through the OCLC Community Center
2:30 PM: “Increasing Efficiencies and Making the Most of Your Services” – Please select one of the following sessions to attend.
- WorldShare Collection Manager: Learn about the growing number of uses for Collection Manager, from managing electronic materials and getting new print items into circulation quickly to helping users find resources. Enjoy a guided tour of the training and tools available to help you make the most of your access to WorldShare Collection Manager.
- WorldShare Record Manager: Learn how Record Manager provides an integrated option for cataloging by streamlining metadata management and enhancing discoverability. Enjoy a guided tour of the training and tools available to help you make the most of your access to WorldShare Record Manager.
- OCLC Research Presents: The Digital Visitors and Residents App--The Digital Visitors and Residents app is a fun and engaging application designed to help people map out where they fall on the Visitors and Residents spectrum in their use of various services and applications. This app highlights Visitors and Residents, a project conducted by Senior Research Scientist, Lynn Silipigni Connaway, and a team of OCLC Research staff that examines library user behavior.

Special Concurrent Program with OCLC Research Library Partnership
11:45 AM-3:30 PM: This Member Forum features a special, parallel track focusing on the work of the OCLC Research Library Partnership. We’ll talk about work that OCLC and Partner institutions have done together, featuring presentations by Research staff and staff from Partner institutions. We’ll also give you a preview of work we have planned and get your feedback, reactions and input to help our work move forward.
There are no registration fees, and we’ll provide lunch. Check this page from time to time for updates, including agenda changes. Look for directions and parking information in a reminder e-mail we’ll send you a week before the event you’ve registered to attend.
