ILA Past President Melissa Gardner Named New President of the Rotary Club of Palatine
June 29, 2023Melissa Gardner, Assistant Director at Palatine Library District, has been named the incoming president of Rotary Club of Palatine for the 2023 – 2024 term. This local civic service organization has been active in Palatine for nearly 60 years and engages in community service and fundraising to support other local organizations and Rotary International.
Gardner is stepping into this role after outgoing president Chuck Young. She has been a Rotarian since 2011 and is looking forward to an exciting year of volunteering and connecting with other local organizations. She is committed to continuing the great impact the club has on Palatine and supporting all the work that goes into having another fabulous Oktoberfest.
Gardner has a Master of Library & Information Science degree from Dominican University. She served as the president of the Illinois Library Association in 2017. She brings over 20 years of leadership from several Illinois libraries and participates in many other local groups like the United Palatine Coalition.
