ALA NMRT Seeking Volunteers for Speakers Pool
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)
May 20, 2016(via Lindsay Harmon, IACRL Vice-President/President-Elect)
The ALA New Members Roundtable wants you to volunteer for the Speakers Pool! The Speakers Pool is a resource that can connect ALA Student Chapters with active ALA and NMRT members who are able to speak (virtually or in-person) about involvement in the association and professional development topics. This is a wonderful opportunity for ALA’s best and brightest to be ambassadors to the next generation of library leaders.
What’s required to volunteer for the NMRT Speakers Pool? You simply must be eager to share your experiences with LIS students, and passionate about the value of NMRT and professional involvement for new librarians. Volunteering does not guarantee that you will be invited to speak anywhere, but your name will be added to the pool of potential speakers, and distributed to ALA Student Chapters for their use.
To be added to the Speakers Pool, complete the NMRT Speakers Pool Volunteer Form. Questions about the Speakers Pool can be directed to the chair of the NMRT Student and Student Chapter Outreach Committee, Ariana Santiago, at ariana.e.santiago@gmail.com.
