Reminder--ILA Conference Proposals Due April 1
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)
March 31, 2016(via Gwen Gregory, IACRL President)
The 2016 ILA Annual Conference theme, Discovery Advocacy Leadership, focuses on how libraries and library staff serve as community leaders to support life-long learning and engagement within Illinois communities. Actively share ideas by submitting a conference proposal and joining the conversation!
The ILA Annual Conference Program Committee is seeking programs addressing the following topics:
- Offering strategies to provide communities with methods to discover and explore twenty-first century library services.
- Encouraging library staff to become active advocates for themselves, their libraries, and their communities.
- Highlighting opportunities for library staff of all types to serve as leaders and mentors within their profession.
The many different types and sizes of libraries throughout Illinois offer the potential for a wealth of experience and knowledge to be discovered at the conference. We urge those who discover, advocate, or lead in libraries to consider submitting a proposal, either individually or by partnering with others to demonstrate the power of libraries working together.
Proposals are due Friday, April 1, 2016. For more information, click here.
Please Note: Conference speakers who are employed by or a trustee of a library (academic, public, school, special), a library agency, or library school located in the State of Illinois are required to register and pay the appropriate registration fee for the conference. Speakers from outside the Illinois library community will receive a one-day waiver of their registration fee. ILA will prepare badges for guest speakers not registered for the conference.
