2016 IDS Project Conference Call for Proposals
Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries Forum (IACRL)
March 11, 2016(via Mark Sullivan (sullivm@geneseo.edu), IDS Project Executive Director at SUNY-Geneseo’s Milne Library)
The IDS (Information Delivery Services) Project’s 12th Annual Summer Conference is Thursday, July 28th and Friday, July 29th, at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, NY. This year’s conference theme is “The Sharing Economy”. Approximately 250 attendees are expected.
Dorothea Salo will be our Keynote this year. Dorothea is a Faculty Associate in the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she teaches about organization of information, scholarly communication and open access, digital libraries and archives, database design, and linked data. In 2009 Library Journal named her a Mover and Shaker for her open-access advocacy; in 2014 and 2015, the WISE Consortium honored her for excellence in online education. Dorothea has written and presented internationally on scholarly publishing, copyright, institutional repositories, linked data, and research-data management. She holds an MA in Library and Information Studies and another in Spanish from UW-Madison.
On Wednesday, July 27th, we will be hosting two Pre-Conference Sessions concurrently with the All-Region User Group Meeting. These two three-hour technology sessions will be focused on IDS Logic: Create Your Own Logic Rules and ILLiad Webpage Modifications. Since these two workshops will be hands-on, participation will be capped at fifteen seats. Attendees will need to bring a laptop with the ILLiad client loaded to benefit the most from the sessions. Also on Wednesday evening, we are pleased to announce a Pre-Conference gathering.
The IDS Project Conference Planning Committee is seeking proposals for conference presentations and posters. In particular, IDS Project is looking for proposals focusing on:
- Resource Sharing Best Practices
- Combination of Acquisitions, Collection Development, and ILL
- ILL Data Analysis
- Data Driven Decision Making
- Best Practices for Large-Scale Weeding
- Development & Uses of ILLiad Add-ons
- ILL Efficiencies and Productivity
- Assessment of Resource Sharing Policies, Procedures, and Systems
- Effective Software Development and Implementation Techniques
Deadline for proposals is Friday, April 8, 2016. Please click here to submit a 200-to-300-word proposal for your presentation or poster.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the conference, please email the conference planning team at conference@idsproject.org.
