A Valued Partnership: US DoD-MWR Libraries and iREAD

December 3, 2015

Words can't express what this amazing partnership with the libraries of the U.S. Department of Defense Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (DoD-MWR) has meant not only to Illinois libraries, but to the thousands of kids and families who participate worldwide. From Edwards Air Force Base in southern California to Army Garrison Yongsan in South Korea, from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to Navy Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickham in Hawaii, the Read to the Rhythm theme led to drum safaris, performances by the Marine Aircraft Wing Band and the USMC Jazz Band, and lots of reading about music, musicians, and all things rhythm.
