Soon-to-be-Famous Finalists Selected
March 25, 2014Three finalists have been selected from the 103 self-published authors nominated by Illinois librarians for the Soon-to-be-Famous Illinois Author Project. Finalists are:
Rick Polad, nominated by the Phillips Library at Aurora University for Change of Address |
Mary Hutchings Reed, nominated by the Mount Prospect Public Library for Warming Up |
Joanne Zienty, nominated by the Forest School LIbrary in Des Plaines forThe Things We Save |
The purpose of this project is twofold: to give talented authors exposure and spotlight the importance of libraries in both the creation and reading of literature. As Forbes contributor David Vinjanmuri says in his video about the project, "Libraries are the keystone species in the reading ecosystem!"
Vinjamuri will present the award at a media reception on April 16 at RAILS Administrative Headquarters in Burr Ridge. For a complete list of authors and more information, see the project website.
