The Illinois Library Association Annual Conference for 2019 was located in Tinley Park, Illinois and ran from October 22 to 24. The conference title SHIFT – Where Will You Grow? was aptly named in response to how libraries are evolving through these changing times in our society. The conference speakers provided great insight to attendees regarding everything from inclusion to professional motivation.

The Exhibit Hall was filled with vendors where attendees could walk around and see the new and exciting things available to libraries. While the Program Sessions provided attendees with a greater depth and understanding of the challenges that are facing the current and upcoming landscape of the library profession. IACRL held its annual Unconference which was graciously supported by the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI). Additionally, IACRL provided attendees with a new awareness on what is happening in academic libraries today with its luncheon and annual meeting.

Also featured at the conference was the Ninth Annual ILA Pub Stroll. This event took place at several locations throughout Tinley Park. Attendees had the opportunity to network with colleagues and friends in relaxed settings. The IACRL meet-up took place at Primal Cut and was a fun and festive evening for all who attended.

A lunch buffet and more informative Program Sessions ranging throughout all tracks of the library profession rounded out the final day of the conference. This year’s ILA Conference will take place in Springfield. Looking forward to seeing all of you there.
