A Message from the Reaching Forward Committee
March 15, 2020Valued Illinois library colleagues,
Following several days of deliberation, discussion, and exploring options, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Reaching Forward Conference that was to be held Friday, May 1st at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.
The Reaching Forward Conference has been a highly anticipated event each May for more than 30 years, so this was not an easy decision. However, it is the right one, in light of the responsibility we have to our attendees, speakers, and their communities.
While we regret the loss of a day filled with learning, networking, and inspiration, we remain confident that “this, too, shall pass” and will work to make the 2021 conference as high-quality as this one promised to be and look FORWARD to seeing you there next spring.
Wishing you all good health and high spirits,
Heidi Knuth
Chair, Reaching Forward Conference 2020
