Nominations for ILA’s Youth Services Awards Now Open

Youth Services Forum (YSF)

April 24, 2023

Do you know an outstanding Youth Services librarian? Nominate them for an ILA Award!

ILA offers two awards specifically geared at Youth Services librarians: the Youth Services Achievement Award and the Youth Services Librarian of the Year Award. The Youth Services Achievement Award recognizes a non-degreed (MLIS) individual working directly with children in an Illinois library setting who has made an outstanding contribution through programming and initiatives. The Youth Services Librarian of the Year Award recognizes a degreed (MLS or MLIS) librarian currently serving children and/or families in a public or school library who exemplify resourcefulness, professionalism, and caring in their service to young people and to the library profession.

You can nominate a colleague (or yourself!) for both awards. Learn more about these awards and fill out
a nomination at www.ila.org/about/awards-and-scholarships. Nominations are due Monday, May 15th . If you have any questions, please email Tamara Jenkins at tjenkins@ila.org.
