Illinois Libraries Form Group Insurance Pool

January 13, 2014

Twenty-four libraries made the decision to form a group pool for property/casualty and workers compensation insurance, projecting substantial savings and more stable coverage for their libraries and their taxpayers.

Formation of the pool, Libraries of Illinois Risk Agency (LIRA), was facilitated by the Illinois Library Association and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., which met a December 31, 2013 deadline to organize prior to unfavorable changes in Illinois law governing such pools.  The pool itself will be governed by a board of directors composed of member representatives.  The first group meeting will take place January 30 in Itasca.

If your library is interested in becoming a part of the LIRA program, please contact Erika Morris (630-285-3840) or Marcus Henthorn

(630-694-5152) at Arthur J. Gallagher for more information and a quote.
