The River Valley District Library seeks an outgoing and dedicated Library Director with strong leadership skills and exceptional vision. The ideal candidate will excel at mentoring and empowering staff and collaborate closely with the community and governmental agencies. Our new Director must exercise fiscal responsibility in managing library resources, exhibit strong prioritization skills, and utilize data-driven decision making.
The Library is located in the ever-growing Village of Port Byron, and serves over 5000 residents in upper Rock Island County, IL, just north of the Quad Cities.
The successful candidate will:
- Develop positive team dynamics and engender an environment of trust among the library staff and board of trustees.
- Cultivate increased awareness of library services in the community, and grow these services based on community needs.
- Continue to update and evolve the library space.
- Have a strong philosophy of customer service.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. MLIS a plus.
- Five years of library service and demonstrated management ability.
Salary
$48,000 - $55,000 depending on experience. The library participates in IMRF and offers four weeks of PTO per year for the first four years with an increase in PTO at five years and ten years.
